A spectacular opening ceremony on the Athens Riviera!
Athens, 13 December 2022 – With an enchanting opening ceremony taken from the pages of a magical Christmas fairy tale, Flisvos Marina in Palaio Faliro is welcoming visitors and launching the most brilliant of holiday seasons! The event will take place from 16.00 to 20.00 on Tuesday, 13 December, transporting visitors to a Christmas wonderland.
With the Marina decked out for the season from end to end, a wish list of artists will perform a unique Christmas stage show that includes music, special theatrical happenings and impressive choreographies. The Christmas bicycle Ho Ho Ho Wishes, the Christmas Snowballs, the Christmas Lead Ballerinas, the Christmas Stretching Goblins, the Led Snow Fairies, the Christmas Muppet Show, and the Tin Soldiers will jump from the stage and mingle with visitors, filling us with favourite childhood Christmas memories. But a true Christmas fairy tale needs a real magician! The famous magician Sankara will perform a stunning magic show, preparing visitors for the impressive grand entrance of Santa Claus. For one more year our Christmas Tree lights will wow the crowd, and spectacular fireworks will light up the Marina sky. For the enjoyment of our young friends, there will be Face Painting and balloon animals.
The Palaio Faliro Chorus will open the event’s musical offerings this year, singing carols for the most enchanting Christmas, with Eleni Defingou and Maestro organising the rest of the musical programme. Batala Atenas will be the evening’s big surprise, as they will lift the crowd with a parade full of Christmas energy! This dynamic group will pound their irresistible drums in samba and reggae rhythms, sweeping the crowd away into the beat of Christmas optimism!
Vicky Chatzi will emcee the event, and KISS FM will broadcast the Christmas event live on its program.
Holiday Charms and gifts will be on sale at the Christmas Bazaar, organised by the ‘ALMA’ Pan-Hellenic Association of Adapted Activities. Admission is free for all visitors.
